Soap Box Chuckwagon Races
Overview
The Kids Chuckwagon Race will take place Saturday, July 25, 2026. This supervised community race for children ages 5–12 blends friendly competition with creativity and teamwork. Teams of three will compete: one child pulls an event-provided folding wagon, while two teammates run alongside with handmade stick horses. A prize will be awarded to the first-place team. Safety, sportsmanship, and positive participation are expected at all times.





Final Race Information
The top four teams will advance to the Final Heat held Sunday afternoon, July 26, 2026, at the Rodeo Grounds during the end-of-day chuckwagon races at the Battle of the Foothills. Each team member and two parents per child will receive tickets to attend the Sunday Chuckwagon Finals event.
The winning team at the final race on Sunday receives a $100 cash prize and each team member (3) receives a genuine Olson Silver chuckwagon champion buckle!

Pancake Eating Championship
Overview
Think you have what it takes to break a World Record?! Come hungry on Saturday, July 25 and join the challenge! The chow down begins at 10:00am sharp!



How It’s Going Down
- 15-minute competition (10:00-10:15am).
- Participants are served 5 mini pancakes at a time.
- All pancakes must be fully swallowed before the next set.
- Hands on only. Water permitted.
- Participants may stop at any time.
- Vomiting results in disqualification.
- Judges’ decisions are final.
Winner receives a $100 cash prize, and this one of a kind pancake trophy!

Chili Cook Off
Overview
Join us for the 2026 Chili Cook Off during the 3rd Annual High River Stampede Breakfast at George Lane Memorial Park on July 25, 2026.
Think your chili has what it takes to impress the crowd? This is a fun community competition where guests sample chili and vote for their favorites. There is no fee to enter.

How It’s Going Down
- Each space is approximately 6 feet wide (width of table provided).
- Participants provide their own lighting, electrical cords, chairs, and display materials.
- Small cups and spoons are provided by the High River Stampede Breakfast Committee.
- Power outlets are limited and assigned during registration only.
- Space designation is at the discretion of the Chili Committee.
- Participants must keep their area clean, follow Alberta Health Services safe food practices, and remove all garbage after the event.
Voting
Guests vote for First, Second, and Third Place using ballot cards provided on site. A special judge will sample each chili at the beginning of the competition and record their choices. These selections are placed in a sealed envelope and opened only if a tie occurs for First Place.
The winning chili receives $100 cash, a one of a kind trophy, and of course, bragging rights!
